Community Baptism Church History:

On April 15, 1966 a new Christian Congregation formed a church with 4 families, in Henderson Nevada. Under the stewardship of Pastor Sylvester Parks, the church grew steadily and moved to St. Peters Catholic Church in 1969. As God continued to grow the church, in 1975 it moved to Price Street with a permanent membership of 35.
In December of 1976 Reverend Parks passed the leadership on to Reverend George Smith, then the Assistant Pastor. Quickly after that, in March of 1977 Sam Roberson was elected as the Pastor. With membership continuing to grow, the congregation sought a permanent location. God answered the call and the faith of the congregation providing a loan to purchase the present property at 245 East Forster Avenue.
The Congregation met at Zion United Methodist Church while securing the finances necessary to complete construction.in 1985.  And in 1989 Community planted a School of Evangelism. God continued to pour out His blessing and in 1991 the church opened the Combach Montessori Children House, followed in 1993 by the Gamaliel Christian Bible Training Institute.
With a now large and financially committed congregation, in a major community outreach initiative, the Church in partnership with the City of Henderson to create an affordable housing project. In 2011 with the grace of God, the Smith-Williams Senior Housing project was opened.
Following a career guided by the hand of God, Pastor Roberson retired in December 2022. Dr. William Brown assumed the responsibilities of Head Pastor and is carrying on the incredible works of Pastor Robinson. Community Baptist Church continues to be the beacon on spiritual light in Henderson.
